Max Verstappen has reflected on his first pole position of the 2026 season at the Bahrain Grand Prix, describing it as an amazing moment for everyone after Red Bull's tough start to the year.

The Dutchman admitted that despite strong pace throughout practice sessions, it was difficult to predict whether pole position was truly on the cards, but from Q1 onwards it was clear he was in the running.

He noted that the team had made significant progress, added strong updates to the car, and finally gained a much better understanding of its overall behavior.
Max Verstappen is currently 6th in the drivers' championship with 163 points.
