Former Formula 1 driver and broadcaster Martin Brundle has shared insights from a private phone call with former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner following recent media speculation linking the Briton to Ferrari.
Horner has been on the open market for 14 months after leaving his role at Red Bull in July 2025, having spent over 20 years in charge. Despite various paddock links, none have materialised into a new role.

Speaking on Sky Sports F1, Brundle explained: 'There was a lot of talk about Christian Horner this week. So, I rang Christian to find out all about it, and he said, 'I was just being polite and respectful about Ferrari in another interview I did'. And it took on a whole… it was sort of two plus two equals seven and a half, I think.'
Brundle also mused on the potential team dynamic: 'Can you imagine Christian and Lewis Hamilton working together after 2021? That might be an interesting dynamic for a while there.' However, Brundle emphasized that Horner is in no rush.
'I don’t think Christian is interested in that; as he told me, he’s not interested in anything in particular at the moment in Formula 1 until the right opportunity comes up,' Brundle added.
